Which brother would you choose? Vampires Diaries by K.Williamson and J.Plec

This series showed us that by combining horror, romance, and fantasy film we can create one of the most iconic series of the 2000s, not a trashy series. 

Vampire Diaries after the first season which was released on television in 2009 turned out to be such a hit that it was continued for 8 seasons. What is more, there were also spin-offs - The Orginals and Vampires: Legacy. Which only confirms my thesis from the beginning of this post - there is no greater hit in the category of series for teenagers, and not only.😎 Even my parents, when the series was broadcast on one of the Polish TV stations, watched it with emotion.  What makes the adventures of the vampires (and others) of Mystic Falls so engaging?

At first - story and characters. Beautiful, dark-haired Elena (played by Nina Dobrev) is recovering from a tragedy that befell her. At the same time, the unearthly handsome Stefan Salvatore (played by Paul Wesley) appears in Mystic Falls, followed by his evil brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder). 

In addition to Elena, Stefan and Damon, we also get to know the other townspeople. Jeremy, Elena's younger brother, who has a drug problem. Matt, Elena's ex-boyfriend who still loves her. Bonnie who discovers she has magical abilities. Caroline, who didn't evoke any feelings in me.  Tyler, who is a typical boy from a rich family, but also a werewolf. They each have the blood of their ancestors running through their veins, having known vampire Katherine and the Salvatore brothers in 1864. Instead, Katherina's clone is Elena, who pulls off a string of accidents by getting caught up in a triangle with  brothers.

At second- music. The strong point of this series is undoubtedly the music, which fits perfectly into every moment of the series. It builds tension when needed and then relaxes the whole action. While watching it we can hear Florence's songs like "Never let me know" or Anberlin songs.

Last but not least- scriptwriters and director. Perfectly portrayed profiles of the characters, each of them is strongly characterized and unique. 

The advantage of the production is the creation of an original story, drawing inspiration from legends, stories and other cinema productions. The series is filled with supernatural creatures like: werewolves, witches, ghosts, doubles. The scriptwriters were able to present these creatures in a convincing way, presenting legends connected with them but also breaking some stereotypes.

Seriously, now you should turn on your electronic devices, find this series and spend something like 115hours on binge-watching this. Don't thank. You welcome 😜
